Batumi seaport transships over 6,000 tns of Kazakh ammonium nitrate in Q1 2024The Batumi seaport transshipped 6,012 tonnes of Kazakh ammonium nitrate in the first quarter of 2024, the press service of KazTransOil JSC (KTO) reported.The cargo is shipped from the port of Aktau to Hovsan (Azerbaijan) with further transshipment at Batumi (Georgia) for subsequent export to world markets.As reported, the first consignment of Kazakh ammonium nitrate in the amount of 3,000 tonnes was shipped to Batumi Sea Port LLC in March 2024. It is planned to ship over 50,000 tonnes by the end of 2024.The consigner of the mineral fertilizer is KazAzot JSC, which also produces ammonia and nitric acid.The dry cargo terminal of Batumi Sea Port LLC handled 435,000 tonnes of cargo in Q1 2024.Batumi seaport has an oil terminal with a capacity of 15 million tonnes per year, a container terminal with a capacity of 200,000 TEU per year and a dry cargo terminal with a capacity of 2 million tonnes per year.KazTransOil JSC is a national operator of main oil pipelines, part of the NC KazMunayGas group, owns a diversified network of main oil pipelines with a length of 5,400 km. Since August 22, 2017, owns a 100% stake in Batumi Oil Terminal LLC. Batumi Oil Terminal LLC has exclusive rights to manage a 100% stake in Batumi Sea Port LLC, owned by the state (Georgia).
