Port of Kuryk resumes truck ferry operations post floods - Transport MinistryThe Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reported the successful transportation of 840 trucks along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) via the Kuryk Port ferry complex."Within 10 days of traffic resuming on the Kulsary-Aktau highway, 840 trucks were transported through the Kuryk Port ferry complex along the TITR,” the information says.Temporary traffic restrictions on international highways were previously imposed due to flooding in western Kazakhstan but were lifted on April 14 as flood situations stabilized.Collaborating with the Azerbaijani shipping company ASCO, Kazakhstan implemented measures to prevent congestion and delays at the port. Currently, 78 trucks await transport from the port of Kuryk to Alyat (Baku).The spring floods, the worst in the last 80 years, severely affected regions including Aktobe, Akmola, Atyrau, North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and Pavlodar.The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, or "Middle Corridor," traverses China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, extending to Turkey and European countries.
