INDONESIA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO ACTIVE ROLE IN WORLD ORDER WITH OECD ACCESSION

Representing the Indonesian government, Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto received the road map for Indonesia's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) at the opening of the OECD Ministerial Level Meeting in Paris on Thursday (1/5). This process, marks a significant step for Indonesia towards joining the OECD. In his speech, Airlangga said OECD membership and standards would strengthen Indonesia's collaboration with leading economies, allowing it to adopt best practices and contribute to a more inclusive global economy. "Becoming a member of the OECD allows Indonesia to strengthen its constitutional commitment to participate in the world order, to advance freedom, everlasting peace and social justice," he said. The OECD represents a large portion of global trade and investment, and membership aligns with Indonesia's commitment to international cooperation and fostering a sustainable future. Indonesia joins several other countries currently seeking accession, and its partnership with the OECD dates back to 2007, when Indonesia joined as a key partner.Link di fonte: https://www.thejakartapost.com/business/2024/05/02/indonesia-reaffirms-commitment-to-active-role-in-world-order-with-oecd-accession-road-map.html (ICE GIACARTA)
