KAZAKHSTAN-TURKEY-FREIGHT/TRANSPORTATION-AGREEMENT

 Kazakhstan ratifies agreement with Turkey on international combined cargo transportation  President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the ratification of the agreement between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the Republic of Turkey on international combined transportation of goods,” the press service of the head of state reported.The document is aimed at simplifying international freight transport using various types of transport, as well as developing transit transport potential and trade relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey.The agreement establishes that freight transport operations by registered vehicles, starting from crossing the state border or from any loading points located on the territory of the states of the parties, and ending at unloading points for combined transport located on the territory of the state of the other party, must be carried out continuously.The law provides for the development of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey and will increase the volume of goods transported between the two countries by road, rail and water transport.As reported, in 2023 Turkey came fifth in terms of trade turnover with Kazakhstan, which amounted to $6 billion, displaying 4.8% decrease year-on-year.
