AL-HABTOOR GROUP SET TO OPEN NEW TV CHANNEL, STUDIO CITY IN LEBANON
The United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Al-Habtoor Group has recently announced that it will open a newTelevision (TV) channel in Beirut in a bid to shake up the Lebanese media landscape. According to a statement by the Al-Habtoor Group, the new channel is set to offer extensive job opportunities and serve as a beacon of positivity in the media landscape. The channel is expected to create an initial 300 new jobs in various fields including journalism, production and art with additional opportunities to be added as the project expands. According to the Founding Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, Lebanon was specifically chosen as a headquarters for the new TV channel as an effort to create job opportunities for the Lebanese people with a focus on the youth. Additionally, the group aims to contribute to enhancing the economic and social conditions of the local population. Discussions were also help with the Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister who pledged to provide support and facilitation for the project. Additionally, Al-Habtoor Group has revealed plans for a 100,000 square-meter studio city in Lebanon aimed at establishing a hub for film and TV production. This follows the group’s announcement in April of its entry into the broadcasting industry with the launch of a TV channel aiming to spread positivity. It is worth noting that Al-Habtoor Group operates in the UAE as well as various international markets having a presence in various cities such as London, Budapest, Beirut and Springfield. The group has businesses in a myriad of sectors such as Hospitality, Automotive, Real Estate, Education, Insurance and Publishing. (ICE BEIRUT)
