A survey conducted by EWL Group and the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw shows that despite language barriers and long recruitment processes, migrants from Asian and Latin American countries are keen to work in Poland. The survey also demonstrates that in 2019 ca. 55,000 work permits were issued to workers from Asia and Latin America, a figure that exceeded 275,000 in 2023, which represents a fivefold increase. As regards Latin American citizens only, in 2019 more than 1,300 work permits were issued to them while last year – more than 16,500, which representsan increase by more than 12 times.
