CHAMBER OF MINES - CMM PROMOTES MOZAMBIQUE AS A DESTINATION FOR Small Mining Companies
The president of Mozambique's Chamber of Mines - CMM, Geert Klok, invited small South African mining companies to invest in the country during the 10th edition of the Junior Mining Indaba in Johannesburg. He pointed out that Mozambique's mineral resources are underexplored, representing an opportunity for mining companies, especially those involved in the exploration of new deposits. Research and explorations are currently underway into minerals such as heavy sands, rare earths, lithium, gold, and magnetite. Mozambique is a major producer of natural graphite and has a well-established mining industry, attracting investors from countries such as the UK, Canada, and Australia. Geert Klok emphasized the importance of organizations in the mining sector, such as the Mozambique Chamber of Mines, in facilitating investments and creating a favourable environment for investors. The CMM represents the entire mining sector in Mozambique and was founded in 2012 by major international companies. (ICE MAPUTO)
