MINISTER OF INDUSTRY ENCOURAGES INDUSTRY COLLABORATION TO PROVIDE RAW MATERIALS for cosmetics
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita encourages collaboration between the agriculture, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries to speed up cosmetic raw material supply in Indonesia. On Wednesday, Jakarta's Minister of Industry Agus said the collaboration would increase the use of natural cosmetics in Indonesia, which has a much lower per capita cosmetics consumption than Thailand and Malaysia. He noted that just 30% of the Rp 150 trillion in GDP produced by the chemical industry, including cosmetics, was added value from national industry, while 70% was imported processed products. According to him, the agriculture industry has great potential to develop this sector, as 30,000 plants are used as cosmetic raw materials. The local industry must take advantage of this opportunity to develop new uniqueness and competitiveness for local cosmetic products, according to the minister. It expects global sales of natural cosmetics, or those employing natural raw materials, to climb 6.85% until 2028. National natural cosmetics income is expected to climb 5.9% during the same time. He believed that this relationship would help natural cosmetics dominate the home market and attract foreign cosmetic corporations. Indonesia has this potential. Minister of Industry Agus urged multinational cosmetics businesses that have merely considered Indonesia to invest here.Link di fonte: https://www.antaranews.com/berita/4127748/menperin-dorong-kolaborasi-industri-sediakan-bahan-baku-kosmetik (ICE GIACARTA)
