TROJENA RECEIVES EARLY CONTRACTOR INVOLVEMENT BIDS

Saudi Arabia's Trojena development at Neom has received bids from contractors on an early contractor involvement (ECI) basis to build several assets in the Discover and Explore clusters. The client invited contractors to bid for the packages early this year. The bid submission deadline was on 22 May. The assets for which the contractors are bidding include; Discovery Tower, Mountain Exclusive Resort, Cosmic Gate, Boutique Hiking Hotel and Mountain Observatory. Trojena will host the Asian Winter Games in 2029 and the construction works have been planned to meet the deadline. Speaking at the Saudi Giga Projects event in Riyadh last month, Philip Gullett, executive director – region head at Trojena said, "We have procured 30% of the overall project and are preparing to procure the remaining 70% of the project." "The whole master plan consists of six zones. We have already awarded some of the major contracts and the construction works have started on several schemes, most notably The Vault excavation works, tunnelling works, Ski Village and the construction of the dams at the Lake District," Gullett added. Neom is advancing its plans to deliver several key components of the Trojena development. In May,  Italian contractor Webuild had started the construction of the dams at the Trojena mountain resort. In April, Neom issued a notice asking contractors to prequalify for a contract to build The Vault building. Neom also issued a tender notice inviting contractors to bid for the concrete works package for Trojena’s Ski Village in March. Neom is also close to awarding a contract for the staff and contractors’ camp facilities at Trojena. The contract covers the construction of workers’ accommodation facilities at Camp 4 and Camp 2 at the development.  In December, it selected Italian contractor WeBuild for an estimated $5bn contract to build the dams that will create an artificial lake at the heart of the mountain resort. In October, Neom also awarded a $1.2bn infrastructure development contract to a joint venture of the local Al Ayuni Investment & Contracting and Turkish Limak Holding.  Trojena is set to be a year-round tourist destination. It will include a ski village, family and wellness resorts, retail food and beverage facilities, and sports amenities such as watersports and mountain biking. An interactive nature reserve is also planned.   For registration as supplier: https://www.neom.com/en-us/our-business/suppliers (ICE RIYADH)
