Turkey lifts restrictions on the import of livestock and poultry products from KazakhstanTurkey has lifted restrictions on the import of livestock and poultry products from Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a press release."A number of restrictions on the supply of Kazakhstan-made agricultural products to Turkey were lifted from June 7, 2024, including the restrictions associated with bird flu, which had been in force since 2005, and the restrictions relating to foot-and-mouth disease and lumpy skin disease, which had been in effect since 2016 and 2022, respectively," the press release says. The decision to lift the restrictions was made as a result of negotiations between the agricultural ministries of Kazakhstan and Turkey that were held during the 91st session of the World Organization for Animal Health in May of this year. The next step that will be taken to promote Kazakh livestock products will be the coordination of veterinary requirements, which will be discussed during the visit of Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov to Turkey in August of this year.
