INDONESIA-JAPAN COOPERATION HELPS TRACEABILITY OF MALUKU FISHERY PRODUCTS

Maluku's fisheries exports are not being optimized properly, with 18–32% of products coming from illegal, unreported, non-compliant fishing practices. To improve traceability, cooperation with fishery export destination countries like Japan is needed. Japan is providing funding for the construction of supporting infrastructure and using technology such as tags and QR codes to provide information about catch locations and ship types. Artificial intelligence technology is also being used to process catches. The Japanese Fisheries Agency issued a "Fish Passport" in 2021 to guarantee traceability, and the Maluku Regional Development Planning Agency is working to revive the economy.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2024/06/12/kerjasama-indonesia-jepang-untuk-dorong-ekspor-perikanan-maluku (ICE GIACARTA)
