THE BUSINESS YEAR PROMOTES DEBATE ON MOZAMBIQUE'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Global media group The Business Year (TBY) held a forum in Maputo on Wednesday 19 June with innovation as its main theme. The event, titled “Forging Mozambique’s Future: Economic Development Perspectives”, showcased how mobility, entertainment, energy and cybersecurity can influence the future of the country’s economy.Bringing together speakers from various sectors to discuss the impact of innovation on the country’s economic development, the event began with a speech by the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Daniel Nivagara, who declared: “We want our country to be a preferred market for national companies and a magnet for foreign investment in various areas of activity, both traditional and emerging economic sectors.” This statement set the stage for a discussion on how different sectors are embracing innovation to address challenges and seize new opportunities.The event, promoted by The Business Year, aimed to convey the message that the business community in Mozambique must continue to invest in innovative practices to adapt to international practices. On this occasion, Eduardo Vicente, national general manager of Bravantic, was recognized with The Business Year Award for developing impactful initiatives for the future of the country.The event was part of the research activities that will culminate in the launch of The Business Year: Mozambique 2024 later this summer. According to the official statement, the publication will highlight the country’s economic potential, exploring investment opportunities and key sectors driving growth.
