Kazakhstan's industrial output grew 3% in Jan-MayThe industrial production in January-May 2024 increased by 3% year over year to reach 19.407 trillion tenge in value, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.During the reporting period, the output grew by 0.6 % to 8.902 trillion tenge in the mineral extraction and mining industry compared with the same period of the previous year, including an increase of 3.8% in natural gas production, 6.5% in metal ore extraction and 10.6% in mining services.The production volume in the manufacturing industry rose by 5.2% to 8.950 trillion tenge, including a growth of 5.8% in the chemical industry, 7.5% in the metallurgical industry, 28.4% in the production of metal goods excluding machinery and equipment, 14.7% in machine building, and 90% in the output of other finished goods.The reporting period saw a 6.1% rise in the output by the power, gas, steam, hot water supply and air conditioning sectors and a 0.2% decrease in the water supply, sewage and waste disposal sectors.
