PGNiG Upstream Norway, a unit of the ORLEN Group, has signed a deal with Source Energy under which it will acquire a 20-percent stake in the Atlantis natural gas field in Norway. The acquisition will provide the group with access to resources amounting to more than 13 million barrels of oil equivalent, including primarily gas deposits of approx. 1.5 billion cubic metres. As noted by ORLEN, the deal will contribute to the group maintaining a stable and high level of natural gas production in Norway, with the gas produced in the Atlantis field reaching Polish consumers via the Baltic Pipe.
