Kazakh prime minister and CITIC CEO discuss a project for increasing the capacity of Caspi Bitum plantKazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and CITIC Group’s Party Secretary Xi Guohua discussed the progress of Kazakh-Chinese projects and prospects for cooperation, the press service of the Kazakh government said in a Tuesday statement."Taking into account the ambitious goals for further modernization of road infrastructure, the sides discussed the progress of the project for increasing the capacity of the bitumen plant owned by CASPI BITUM JV LLP to 750,000 tonnes per year. This project will help fully satisfy the domestic demand for bitumen during the construction season," the statement says.Bektenov and Xi Guohua agreed that Kazakhstan and China are determined to further develop their cooperation in agriculture, clean energy, environmental protection and digital technologies.CITIC Group currently participates in large infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan, including modernization and repairs of large highways, including 24 sections with a total length of 1,131 km of the Taldykorgan-Ust-Kamenogorsk and Karaganda-Balkhash highways.CITIC Group Corporation, founded in 1979, carries out in Kazakhstan projects in energy, infrastructure, the chemical industry and other areas.
