UKRAINE: INTERNATIONAL RESERVES AT USD 37.9 BILLION IN JUNE.

As of July 1, 2024, Ukraine's international reserves stood at USD 37.9 billion, reflecting a 2.9% decline in June. This decrease resulted from the NBU's foreign exchange interventions to address a foreign currency deficit and stabilize exchange rates, along with FX debt repayments.Key factors influencing the reserve dynamics included:NBU FX Market Transactions: The NBU sold USD 2,995.5 million and bought USD 0.9 million, resulting in net FX sales of USD 2,994.6 million.Government Inflows and Debt Servicing: The government received USD 2,431.7 million, including USD 2,021.4 million from the European Union, USD 407.3 million from FX domestic debt securities, and USD 3.0 million from the World Bank. Debt repayments totaled USD 444.5 million, including USD 315.7 million for domestic securities, USD 73.6 million to the World Bank, and USD 55.2 million to other creditors. Additionally, USD 247.6 million was repaid to the IMF.Revaluation of Financial Instruments: A revaluation increase of USD 111.9 million due to market value changes.These reserves cover 4.9 months of future imports.
