EIA lowers forecast for Kazakhstan's liquid hydrocarbon production for 2024-2025The US Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration (EIA) has revised down its forecast for liquid hydrocarbon (LHC) production in Kazakhstan for 2024-2025.In the July forecast, 2024 LHC production in Kazakhstan is projected to be 1.92 million barrels per day, down from 1.95 million b/d in June.The forecast for oil production in 2024 remained unchanged at 2 million b/d in the first quarter, increased to 1.95 million b/d in the second quarter (up from 1.93 million b/d), lowered to 1.87 million b/d in the third quarter (down from 1.93 million b/d), and updated to 2 million b/d in the fourth quarter (up from 1.95 million b/d).For 2025, the EIA forecasts LHC production in Kazakhstan will reach 2.02 million b/d, revised down from 2.08 million b/d in June. The 2025 projections include 1.97 million b/d in the first quarter (down from 2 million b/d), 1.98 million b/d in the second quarter (down from 2.11 million b/d), 2.03 million b/d in the third quarter (up from 2.01 million b/d), and 2.09 million b/d in the fourth quarter (down from 2.19 million b/d).
