The latest data released by the Polish Power Transmission and Distribution Association (PTPiREE) show that in 2023, PGE Dystrybucja invested the most in distribution networks, i.e. PLN4.22bn, followed by Tauron Dystrybucja with PLN2.8bn, Energa Operator with PLN2.3bn and Enea Operator with PLN1.8bn. The data also show that this expenditure is increasing y/y as in 2021 it totalled PLN7.2bn and a year later – PLN9.25bn. The issue has been addressed by the Energy Regulatory Office (URE), which has said that a dynamic increase in investment in the rollout of electrical grids in Poland is expected, with total investment significantly exceeding PLN100bn by 2030.
