POLAND WITH ITS MINIMUM WAGE JOINS COUNTRIES WITH HIGHEST BUYING POWER IN EU
As of July 1, Poland's minimum wage is in the group of countries with the highest purchasing power parity (PPP) in the European Union, the EU statistical office Eurostat reported on Tuesday.The PPP is an artificial common reference unit used in the EU, that eliminates the price differences between countries.Group 1 is the group with a national minimum wage above 1250 PPS. Countries that belong to this group are Luxembourg, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Ireland, Poland, Spain, and Slovenia. Their minimum wages varied between 1379 PPP in Slovenia to 1912 in Luxembourg.Group 2 is the group with a national minimum wage of 1000 PPP to below 1250 PPP. Countries that belong to this group are Romania, Lithuania, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Portugal and Malta. Their minimum wages varied between 1037 PPP on Malta to 1243 in Slovenia.Group 3 is a group with a national minimum wage of below 1000 PPP. Countries that belong to this group are Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia and Bulgaria. Their minimum wages varied between 799 PPP in Bulgaria to 922 PPP in Hungary. (ICE VARSAVIA)
