Kyrgyzstan plans to start building its part of railroad running to China, Uzbekistan in Sept - FMKyrgyzstan plans to begin the construction of its section of a railroad to link it with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in September, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev said on Monday."The construction of a China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad is scheduled to begin in September," Kulubayev told journalists at a press briefing.Active work is currently underway to prepare for the construction, he said.Earlier on Monday, Kulubayev and Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen agreed to facilitate the soonest possible launch of the railroad construction, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.Kyrgyzstan ratified the railway project agreement with China and Uzbekistan on June 27. Consistent with the trilateral agreement, the railroad will go from Kashgar in China through Torugart on the border of Kyrgyzstan and China, Makmal in Kyrgyzstan and Jalalabad in Kyrgyzstan to Andijan in Uzbekistan.Experts say that the annual cargo transportation by the railway may reach 15 million tonnes, while the time of delivery to end users will be cut by seven days, compared to the routes in operation. Transit and logistic infrastructure, warehouses and terminals will be built.Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov said in April that the railway cost was tentatively estimated at around $8 billion.
