POLAND ADVANCES IN ELECTRIC MOBILITY RANKING - REPORT
Poland has advanced from the category of ‘emerging' to that of 'transitioning' countries, reflecting its rapid advancements in the electrification of transport, a report has shown.The Mobility Guide prepared by the leasing company Ayvens divided 47 countries into three categories based on the presence of electric vehicles (EV) and favourable conditions towards their adoption.In 2023, Norway, the Netherlands, and Finland received recognition as 'developed' countries, whereas Poland advanced from the lowest 'emerging' category to the classification of 'transitioning' countries.According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), quoted in the report, Poland recorded 'an impressive growth' of 50 percent in the sales and registration of EVs.The data also revealed that 2,543 charging stations were built between 2022 and 2023 and that there were an average of 1.4 stations for every 100 kilometres of roads. Each public station served around 7 EVs.The report indicated that one of the strengths of the Polish market was its extensive selection of electric vehicles, which totalled 132 different models.It also mentioned that the total costs of EV ownership were similar to those of combustion engine vehicles."The total cost of ownership for an electric vehicle is PLN 0.35 (EUR 0.08) per kilometre while maintaining a vehicle with an internal combustion engine is PLN 0.01 more expensive," Ayvens reported.
