The Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported that in Q2 of 2024 the average monthly gross wage and salary in the national economy rose by 14.7 percent y/y, amounting to PLN8,038.41. Commenting on the figures, mBank’s analysts have noted that they come as a surprise as the July projection of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) provided for an increase of 13.5 percent y/y. Meanwhile, PKO BP experts have noted that the growth rate in the national economy is higher than the rate of salary growth recorded in the enterprise sector, which is 3.8 percentage points lower.
