VARIETY AND LOTS OF $1 DEALS TO SPICE UP FOOD EXPO

Variety and lots of $1 deals to spice up Food ExpoThe Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s annual Food Expo kicks off today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with more than 1,800 exhibitors.This year, a number of vendors are offering HK$1 deals to visitors.Wine Spirit Sake Shop will hand over 10 cups of top-notch Daiginjo for HK$1 each to the first 10 visitors who come to its booth between 7pm and 9pm from Friday to Sunday.Another HK$1 deal is to be had at Lares Shop, which is offering luncheon meat skewers made from chicken breast, a healthier alternative, for that nominal price from 1 pm to 3 pm throughout the five-day exhibition, with 20 skewers available per time slot.Food manufacturer Chaaya Group is going with variety in hopping on the HK$1 bandwagon during the five-day Food Expo: that amount will fetch you 200 grams of crisp flesh grass carp today; 200g of black fish fillet tomorrow; 150g of fish tofu on Saturday; 200g of dace fish balls on Sunday; and a sauce pack for Sichuan-style boiled fish on Monday. Of course, the caveat is each item is limited to 100 portions per day.Food Expo Pro features instant halal-certified Korean fried vermicelli and 3D food and cooking machines developed by local startups, while the Hong Kong International Tea Fair showcases organic Ceylon black teas from Sri Lanka and Hong Kong-style milk tea.The Food Expo’s gourmet zone also showcases global delicacies, including Spanish suckling pig, Thai natural green curry and Taiwanese brown sugar milk boba.The Beauty and Wellness and Home Delights expos present a variety of selected products, such as popular home beauty devices from South Korea, sports training equipment, massage chairs and ironing equipment.Ticket holders can participate in daily lucky draws for prizes worth over HK$500,000, including kitchenware, furniture, beauty products, gourmet foods and health products.Dry seafood seller On Kee is introducing a game where the first nine visitors who purchase tickets on the event's opening day will each receive cans of ready-to-eat abalone worth HK$36,000 for just HK$1.The HKTDC is offering digital entry tickets for the Food Expo Public Hall, Beauty and Wellness and Home Delights expos at HK$30 each, with an additional HK$10 for access to the Food Expo's gourmet zone.
