UNEMPLOYMENT RATE AMONG YOUTH REACHES 43% – JORDAN LABOR WATCH
A labor observatory in Jordan has estimated that the youth unemployment rate has reached approximately 43%, and it continues to rise due to the shortcomings in economic policies that fail to create new job opportunities. This raises concerns about the social and economic repercussions of high youth unemployment, particularly among those living in challenging circumstances. Ahmed Awad, the director of the Jordan Labor Watch (a civil society organization), emphasized that youth unemployment poses a significant challenge. Young individuals, especially those with academic, technical expertise, and service-oriented skills, encounter obstacles in securing employment, leading to adverse impacts on societal conditions and community stability.
