SALE OF SECOND-HAND ITEMS GOES ONLINE
The latest data compiled by Dun & Bradstreet show that since the beginning of 2024, more than 100 second-hand clothing stores have shut down in Poland and nearly 250 have suspended their activities, with the number of such stores in Poland standing at 13,800 in mid-2024. According to the analysts, Poles are still keen to buy second-hand clothes, however, these go out of business because of high operating costs. Meanwhile, sale of second-hand items is booming online and as noted by OLX manager Łukasz Borowicz, during the first six months of 2024 the number of such ads surged by 20 percent, including by 39 percent in the category music and education, 33 percent in health & beauty and 27 percent in consumer electronics (ICE VARSAVIA)
