Plan to abolish roaming in EAEU to be presented by end of year - EECA plan to abolish roaming in the Eurasian Economic Union will be presented by the end of the year, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission said on Monday."The Eurasian Economic Commission will present by the end of the year a project on utilizing tariffs for cellular services in international roaming in the territories of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union," the press service said."The commission jointly with the working group on communications are currently implementing the final measures of the plan, namely developing rules for utilizing fair tariffs for cellular services in international roaming in the territories of the EAEU member states, which will determine the tariff step, the volume of communications services provided, and other aspects of interaction between the member states' communications operators. The draft rules should be submitted by the end of the year for approval to the commission's board," Sergei Maksimov, director of the EEC anti-monopoly regulation department, told the Izvestia publication, and as quoted by the commission's press service.The press service said that, "The government agencies and communications operators of the EAEU member countries are currently discussing implementing 'fair tariffs'" for communications services in roaming within the territory of the union.
