The Office of Rail Transport (UTK) has reported that in Q2, 2024 intermodal transport carried 6.9 million tons of freight, 19.2 % more y/y, with transport performance of intermodal cargo reaching 2.3 billion ton-km, 16.2 % more compared with the year-earlier period. The statistics compiled by the UTK also show that in Q2 railway undertakings transported 421,000 intermodal units of cargo, which represented ca. 662,800 TEUs, up by 13.2 % and 17.3 % y/y respectively. Meanwhile, during the first six months of 2024 intermodal transport carried 13.7 million tons of freight, with transport performance of 4.6 billion ton-km. (ICE VARSAVIA)
