LUKOIL commissioned 2MW solar power plant in Almaty regionLUKOIL has launched a solar power plant with a capacity of 2 MW in the Almaty region, as announced by the company on Thursday."The project aims to supply environmentally friendly solar energy to the production facilities of LLC LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of PJSC LUKOIL," the company stated in its press release.To maximize electricity generation, photovoltaic modules with tracking support structures will be installed to follow the sun.By generating its own electricity, the company aims to reduce reliance on grid purchases.Construction of the solar power station began in March, with plans for completion within the year.According to the company's website, LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia is responsible for distributing LUKOIL oils in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Afghanistan, and China. Major consumers of LUKOIL oils in Kazakhstan include ArcelorMittal Temirtau, ERG Group, Alageum Electric, KazZinc, Karazhyra, Kazakhmys Corporation, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and others. (ICE ALMATY)
