Saudi Arabia’s Sedco Holding has awarded a SR645m ($172m) contract for the construction of The Point project in the kingdom’s Abha region. The contract was awarded to Riyadh-based Built Industrial Company, a subsidiary of Ladun Investment Company. The project involves the construction of a Hilton-branded hotel and a Canopy by Hilton property on a 75,000 square-metre plot and is scheduled for completion in May 2027. US-based DLR Group is the project design architect and Saudi headquartered Midrar is the project management consultant. Prince Turki bin Talal Al-Saud, governor of the Asir region and chairman of the Asir Development Authority, laid the project’s foundation stone in May 2023. Located on King Fahd Road between Abha and Khamis Mushait, The Point is being developed as an integrated destination for shopping, entertainment and hospitality. The project is part of the Red Sea Markets Company under Sedco Holding Group. Sedco Holding Group’s chairman, Saleh Salem bin Mahfouz, also attended the ground-breaking ceremony for The Point.
