QIDDIYA TENDER PERFORMANCE ARTS CENTRE CONTRACT

Saudi Arabia's gigaproject developer Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has tendered a contract to build the performance arts centre in the Qiddiya entertainment city. The tender was issued in September and the deadline for bid submission is 2 November. The centre will have over 3,000 seats in three theatres. It will also include a cantilevered amphitheatre overlooking Qiddiya City’s lower plateau, with a 500-seat centre suspended from above. In June, QIC had appointed Dubai-based Brewer Smith Brewer Gulf and US-headquartered Tom Wiscombe Architecture as the lead designers for the project. The unveiling of the Qiddiya City Performing Arts Centre follows the announcement of several other projects within the development, including an e-games arena, Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium, a motorsports track, the Dragon Ball and Six Flags theme parks and Aquarabia. QIC has made significant progress with several schemes at Qiddiya City. In September, it awarded a contract to build the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium at the Qiddiya City project. The contract was awarded to a joint venture of Spanish firm FCC Construction and local firm Nesma & Partners. The contract covers the construction of a multipurpose stadium on top of the 200-metre-high Tuwaiq cliff in the new sports and entertainment district of Qiddiya City. QIC has achieved key construction milestones across several schemes in execution at the development. In an update on its official website, QIC said that the overall construction works on the Six Flags Qiddiya City project have reached a 75% completion rate, 71% on the Aquarabia theme park and 70% on the golf courses. The construction works are also 95% completed on the first bridge, which spans about one kilometre. In September, QIC issued the request for proposal notice to firms for the construction works on a transport hub and a wadi bridge. The Qiddiya entertainment city project is one of Saudi Arabia’s five official gigaprojects and covers 376 square kilometres, with 223 sq km of developed land.   For registration as a supplier: https://projectsuppliers.net/en/approvals/qiddiya   (ICE RIYADH)
