KUWAIT AWARDS OIL CONSULTANCY CONTRACTS
State-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has awarded consultancy services contracts to support the firm's staff planning.The call-off contracts have been awarded to the US-based management consultancy firm Boston Consultancy Group (BCG) and Strategy&, the global strategy consulting unit at the financial services company Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC).The contracts have a total maximum value of KD3m ($9.8m), according to a statement released by KPC.It said that the two companies will execute the work equally, with each company earning a maximum of KD1.5m ($4.9m).The contract is for 36 months.Kuwait has awarded several oil consultancy contracts over recent months.On 8 October, state-owned Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (Kufpec), a subsidiary of KPC, had awarded a consultancy contract to UK-based financial services firm Ernst & Young (EY).In a statement, Kufpec said that the contract scope covers a feasibility study and consultancy services to evaluate quantitative risks.The announcement did not state what kind of project or business operation the consultancy will be evaluating.Kufpec said that the contract is worth a total of KD145,000 ($470,000).The company is responsible for Kuwait’s upstream investments in overseas oil and gas projects.It is currently active in countries including Australia, Canada, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan.
