QIDDIYA AWARDS $262M MOTORSPORTS HOTEL COMPLEX DEAL

Saudi Arabian gigaproject developer Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has awarded a construction deal worth about $266m to UAE-based contractor Trojan General Contracting. The contract was awarded for the construction of the motorsports hotel complex in zone one of the East Village South precinct, located in the resort core district of Qiddiya City. The motorsports hotel complex includes a five-star sports car hotel, a four-star hotel and a five-star serviced apartment building.  The tender for the main contract was issued in Q4 last year and bids were submitted in Q1 2024. The construction works have started and the project is expected to be completed by 2026. The project is the latest scheme to make progress at Qiddiya. In September, QIC awarded a contract to build the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium to a joint venture of Spanish firm FCC Construction and local firm Nesma & Partners. QIC has also achieved key construction milestones on several schemes that are in the execution phase at the development. In an update on its website, QIC said that the overall construction works on the Six Flags Qiddiya City project have reached 75% completion, while the Aquarabia theme park is at 71% and the golf courses at 70%. The construction of the development’s first bridge, which spans about 1 kilometre, is also 95% complete. The Qiddiya entertainment city project is one of Saudi Arabia’s five official gigaprojects, covering 360 square kilometres.   For registration as a supplier: https://projectsuppliers.net/en/approvals/qiddiya (ICE RIYADH)
