Kazakhstan among 13 countries invited to become BRICS partner - Russian ambassador to KazakhstanThirteen countries, including Kazakhstan, have been invited to become BRICS partner states, Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexei Borodavkin said."A new category of partner states, which 13 states, including Kazakhstan, have been invited to join, was founded at the recent summit in Kazan. I am certain that the significance of this forum will only increase. BRICS is the driving force of global transition to a fairer multipolar world order," Borodavkin said at the international conference Formation of a Multipolar World and Development Trajectories in Central Eurasia in Astana.Borodavkin's speech was released by the Russian embassy in Kazakhstan's press service.The diplomat said he hopes that "today's conversation will continue the discussion on the results of not only the BRICS summit but also the international conference on Eurasian security, which took place in Minsk on October 31 and November 1."In his speech, Borodavkin noted "the balanced, constructive foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the active role of Astana in maintaining regional stability in Central Eurasia.""By its example, Kazakhstan largely sets the tone for constructive interaction in the subregion," he said.The international conference Formation of a Multipolar World and Development Trajectories in Central Europe was organized in Astana by the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. Representatives of state agencies, leading analytical and public centers, and organizations from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Serbia, and Tajikistan are attending the event. Experts and political scientists are discussing new approaches to issues concerning the cooperation and development of Central Eurasia. The main attention is given to issues concerning global polycentricity, strategic challenges to the region, and also the prospects of economic integration, the release said. (ICE ALMATY)
