DRONE LEADER HEXAFACTORY ESTABLISHES A FOOTHOLD IN THE ITALIAN MARKET WITH AUTO
Hexafactory, a leading South Korean drone company, marked a significant milestone in its international expansion at the "Drone Italy 2024" exhibition, held at BolognaFiere, Italy. The company showcased its cutting-edge autonomous drone technology, particularly the Hexa Safe-X autopilot drone, which is designed for indoor and underground facility inspections. Unlike traditional drones that struggle to operate in environments where GPS signals are unavailable, the Hexa Safe-X uses 3D LiDAR SLAM technology to perform autonomous flights without human control in GPS-denied areas. At the exhibition, Hexafactory further accelerated its market entry into Europe by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with DDA S.r.l., an Italian drone company. This partnership will see Hexafactory supply its autonomous flight drone solutions, including multirotor and VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) technologies, to the Italian market. DDA S.r.l. will be responsible for distributing these solutions, offering technical support, and providing training in Italy, using Hexafactory's technology to enhance its drone product lineup. The event received significant support from organizations such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, the Korea Aviation Safety Technology Institute, and the KOTRA Milan Trade Center, which all played a role in helping Korean drone companies, including Hexafactory, expand their presence in the Italian market. The signing ceremony was attended by the CEOs of Hexafactory and DDA S.r.l., alongside KOTRA representatives, marking a key step in the collaboration between the two companies. Kim Seong-min, CEO of Hexafactory, expressed enthusiasm for introducing their domestically developed autonomous drone technology to Italy, with plans to extend their reach into the broader European and U.S. markets. Through this partnership with DDA S.r.l., Hexafactory aims to expand the distribution of its drone solutions globally, targeting industries that require advanced, GPS-independent inspection technologies. This move aligns with Hexafactory’s broader strategy to leverage its proprietary drone technology, which has already gained recognition and awards in South Korea, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Minister’s Award and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Minister’s Award. With the completion of the Hexa Safe-X autopilot drone, Hexafactory is accelerating efforts to strengthen its position in both domestic and international markets. (ICE SEOUL)
