On 16th Nov. 2024 train X8083 departs Chongqing for Duisburg, Germany, milestone the 100,000th train service of China-Europe freight train which is calling card of the Belt and Road Initiative, the service witnessed an almost tenfold increase in operations between 2016 and 2023, with annual train numbers rising from 1,702 to over 17,000, transported over 11 million TEUs of goods, valued at more than $420 billion.
