Kazakhstan's parliament adopts amendments to republic's budget for 2025-2027 with a deficit of 2.7%-1.9% of GDPThe Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan at a plenary session on Wednesday agreed with the Senate's amendments to the law "On the republican budget for 2025-2027", an Interfax-Kazakhstan reporter said.The law is considered adopted by the parliament and will be sent to the president for signing.Earlier, the Senate introduced 135 amendments to the budget, totaling 118.8 billion tenge. This includes 60 billion tenge in 2025, 38.5 billion tenge in 2026 and 20.3 billion tenge in 2027.The expenditures are aimed at supporting the regions, developing transport infrastructure, water supply and sanitation, and developing the gas transport system.The 2025-2027 budget is based on the government’s forecast of social and economic development for the same period.There are three scenarios in the forecast, and according to the baseline scenario the average oil price will be $75.The government expects GDP to increase by 5.6% in 2025, with an average GDP growth of 5.4% over the next 5 years.Nominal GDP will increase from 150.8 in 2025 to 234.2 trillion tenge or $498.4 billion in 2029.Inflation is projected at 5.5%-7.5% in 2025, at 5%-6% in 2026 and at 5% in 2027-2029.The budget deficit for 2025 is set at 2.7% of GDP, to decrease to 2.2% in 2026 and to 1.9% in 2027. According to the government’s forecast, non-oil deficit will make up 7.3% of GDP in 2025 to decline to 4% in 2027.Revenues of the government budget, excluding transfers, are anticipated to amount to 15.6 trillion tenge in 2025, 16.7 trillion tenge in 2026 and 18.2 trillion tenge in 2027.Budgeted expenses will total 25.8 trillion tenge in 2025, accounting for 17.1% of GDP, 23.2 trillion tenge (13.7%) in 2026 and 24.6 trillion tenge (12.9%) in 2027.
