Previously, the government has announced the postponement of large-scale infrastructure development for some time in the future.The General Chairman of the Indonesian Heavy Equipment Industry Association (Hinabi) Giri Kus Anggoro explained, the presence of a food self-sufficiency program has the potential to incur the demand for heavy equipment. "There will be a transfer of fund allocation to other sectors, especially agriculture. Of course, with the massive construction of food estate as part of PSN Food Self-sufficiency, it will increase the demand for heavy equipment," said Giri. Giri further explained, heavy equipment will be needed for various food activities such as land clearing, making irrigation channels, making road access to transport agricultural products and so on.Hinabi is optimistic that the production target of 8,000 units of heavy equipment this year can be achieved. Meanwhile, until the third quarter of 2024, the production has reached 5,138 units.
