Samruk-Kazyna and China’s SANY Group launch construction of $114 mln plant to produce wind turbine components Kazakhstan’s Samruk-Kazyna JSC and China’s SANY Renewable Energy have held a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a plant that will produce wind turbine components in the Zhambyl region, Samruk-Kazyna said in a press release.The cost of the project is $114 million; the plant will be commissioned in late 2025 and will produce nacelles, blades, towers and other components for wind farms.The project will be financed from foreign direct investment and will total $114 million in value. It will be implemented without having to borrow additional funds from Kazakhstan's development institutions, according to the press release.The share of production localization will be at least 30%. To this end, SANY RE will open a research and development center in Kazakhstan.Samruk-Kazyna plans to commission about 6 GW worth of renewable energy sources together with its partners until 2030.SANY Group, the largest Chinese construction machinery company, includes SANY Renewable Energy as part of its operations.Established in 2008, Samruk-Kazyna manages Kazakhstan's leading strategic companies, including Air Astana, Kazakhtelecom, Kazatomprom, KazMunayGas, Kazpost, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, KEGOC, among others.
