ERG and Huadian will build 200 MW wind farm near Ekibastuz Kazakhstan’s Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) and Argestus and China’s Huadian have agreed to build a 200 MW wind farm near the city of Ekibastuz in the Pavlodar region, northeast Kazakhstan, ERG said in a press release."Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), China’s Huadian and Kazakhstan’s Argestus have signed an agreement on cooperation in the construction of a wind farm near the city of Ekibastuz with an installed capacity of 200 MW," the press release says.The construction will have been completed by the end of 2026. Investment in the project will be over 80 billion tenge.At the moment, the company is building a 150 MW wind farm in the Aktobe region. This farm will supply electricity to Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant of Kazchrome JSC, which is part of ERG.Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) was created in 2014 on the basis of Eurasian National Resources Corporation (ENRC) and is registered in Luxemburg. The company owns ferroalloy, iron ore, aluminum, coal and power generation enterprises in Kazakhstan; it also controls copper and cobalt assets in Africa and carries out an iron ore mining project in Brazil.ERG’s major assets in Kazakhstan include Kazchrome, Sokolov-Sarybai Mining Production Association (SSGPO), Aluminum of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Aluminum Smelter, Eurasian Energy Corporation, Shubarkol Komir and TransCom.China Huadian Corporation (CHD) is a state-owned energy corporation in China, engaged in the generation and sale of electricity and heat energy.Argestus LLP, established in Astana in 2021, is the producer of electricity.Official exchange rate on November 29 is 513 tenge per $1.
