Indonesia's Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani has said that his ministry will open a European Union (EU) desk to improve cooperation between Indonesia and the region. He informed that the decision is the outcome of a meeting with members of the European Business Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) Indonesia, which took place at the ministry's office in Jakarta on Monday, December 11, 2024.Europe is Indonesia's fifth-largest source of foreign direct investment. The Netherlands, France, and Germany are countries with the highest investment. The country members of the EU region invested about USD18.7 billion (Rp296.3 trillion, exchange rate = Rp15,845, as of Monday) between 2019 and the third quarter of 2024.
