INDIAN RAILWAYS AWARDS RS 2,041 CRORE ORDER FOR INSTALLATION OF KAVACH TO KERNEX MICRO SYSTEMS
In line with the measure to ensure railway safety for passengers, Ministry of Railways has awared Rs 2,041.04 crore contact to Kernex Micro Systems (India). The order includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 2,500 sets of on-board Kavach equipment (anti-collision system). The time period to complete the installation, testing is 12 months.Kavach is an advanced safety system developed to prevent train accidents and enhance the safety of train operations on Indian Railways. As an Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system, Kavach continuously monitors the train’s speed and automatically applies the brakes if the loco pilot (train driver) fails to respond in time, preventing potential collisions. The system also improves safety during challenging weather conditions, such as fog and heavy rain, ensuring smooth and secure train operations even in adverse environments.Kernex Microsystems’ share price surged to Rs 1,140 per share, hitting the 5 per cent upper circuit limit in early morning trade on Monday, December 9.
