Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias signed contracts on Thursday for the procurement of 20 new rescue vessels to support the operational needs of the Fire Brigade and Civil Protection services. The contracts were signed as part of the implementation of the AIGIS program and cover vessels worth 12 million euros.He stressed that the 2.1-billion-euro AEGIS programme for purchasing new equipment continued to be implemented at a rapid pace and contracts were constantly being signed for flagship projects, such as the supply of Canadairs, 24 air tractors, three air surveillance aircraft, 1,200 new fire-fighting vehicles, artificial intelligence systems, weather stations, radar, etc. (ICE ATENE)
