CIS member states enhancing trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian cooperation progressively within their space - Kyrgyz PMKyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov has described the improvement of the socioeconomic situation and the higher welfare of the population as key indicators of efficient cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) space."The core indicators of the efficient cooperation in the CIS space are the improvement of the socioeconomic situation and the higher wellbeing of the population of our countries," he said in a speech at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.Japarov noted efforts to progressively enhance trade and economic, scientific and technological, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and create favorable conditions in the CIS space for promoting promising joint projects in energy, industrial, transport infrastructure, education, science, culture and other areas."Integration processes are markedly expanding, cooperation between the member states in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas is being fostered, while the activities of the CIS and other integration associations continue to be linked, and the Commonwealth's authority on the international scene is growing. A 4.2% growth of the aggregate GDP of the CIS countries, which exceeds the average rate in the global GDP, is vivid evidence of this," Japarov said.The CIS member states have made great progress in many areas of economic cooperation in recent years, establishing strong mutually beneficial ties in trade, energy, transport, agriculture, construction, industrial cooperation, tourism, he said.Japarov also urged the parties to step up cooperation in labor migration and updating the legal framework in this regard, given that the issue of free movement of employees is coming to the forefront."I find it necessary to join efforts to carry out joint work on elaborating mechanisms for selective identity checks so that labor migration would be safe, orderly and legal, and honest and law-abiding workers would not be affected by injustice, prejudice and discrimination. In this regard, I believe it is essential to continue joint work to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between our peoples, to seek mutually acceptable solutions aimed at the full exercise of workers' rights," Japarov said.
