Canada's Laramide Resources, Kazakhstan's Aral Resources sign agreement to explore for uranium in Chu-Sarysu Basin.Canadian uranium exploration company Laramide Resources has signed a three-year option agreement with Kazakhstan's Aral Resources, with the possibility of a one-year extension, to explore for uranium in the Chu-Sarysu sedimentary basin, according to a Laramide Resources press release."Aral Resources Ltd has been granted 22 mineral exploration licences covering almost 5,500 square kilometres of the Chu-Sarysu Sedimentary Basin in Kazakhstan," it said.Under the terms of the option agreement, Laramide has the right to acquire all of Aral's outstanding shares at any time during the option period, thereby obtaining full ownership of the Chu-Sarysu project, the company said.The company describes the Chu-Sarysu Basin as a prospective but under-explored region."The Chu-Sarysu Basin is an under-explored region with significant potential comparable to the Athabasca Basin in Canada. With significant government support for uranium production and international partnerships, this project represents an excellent addition to Laramide's portfolio of existing development assets," Laramide CEO Mark Henderson is quoted as saying in the statement.During the option period, Laramide will act as the exclusive operator and will be responsible for all operating and exploration costs, according to the press release.Laramide Resources is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The company is engaged in the exploration and development of high quality uranium deposits in Australia and the western United States.Aral Resources Ltd, according to open sources, was registered in 2024 in Astana. The company is engaged in geological exploration.The Chu-Sarysu basin is located in the Suzak district of the South Kazakhstan region. (ICE ALMATY)
