LABOUR COSTS CONTINUE TO RISE

Eurostat has reported that in Q3, 2024 nominal hourly labour costs in Poland rose by 12 percent y/y, following increases of 12.9 percent in Q2 of 2024 and 12.2 percent in Q3, 2023, and the quarterly figure marked the fifth highest increase in the European Union. The data released by the statistical office also show that wages increased by 12 percent, with other components of compensation rising by 11.8 percent. Finally, in the industry sector labour costs rose by 11 percent in Q3 of 2024, following an increase of 10.1 percent in Q2. In construction, costs increased by 13 percent, down from 14.2 percent in the preceding quarter, and in services costs went up by 9.1 percent, down from 10.5 percent in Q2. (ICE VARSAVIA)
