Agricultural production in Kazakhstan grew 13.4% in Jan-NovKazakhstan produced 7.799 trillion worth of agricultural products in January-November 2024 or an increase of 13.4% year- over-year, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.In the 11 months of this year, livestock production came to 2.845 trillion tenge in value or up 3.2% year-over-year, and crop production amounted to 4.901 trillion tenge or an increase of 9.9%.In January-November 2024, the number of cattle in the republic grew by 21.5% year-over-year to 8.051 million heads, sheep by 12.3% to 19.887 million heads, horses - by 5.6% to 4.073 million heads, poultry - by 0.5% to 44.598 million heads. The number of goats decreased by 14% to 1.719 million heads, pigs - by 6.3% to 476,800 heads.Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov said earlier that longstanding inaccuracies in Kazakhstan's agricultural statistics had resulted in inflated figures."While official statistics suggest sufficient raw materials in livestock farming, we recognize the data does not reflect the true situation. To address this, a specialized task force was established to update and verify statistical data. After the review, the ministry plans to correct the records by removing 2 million falsely reported livestock and 3 million tonnes of milk," Saparov said.Saparov also pointed out that while Kazakhstan annually produces around 6.5 million tonnes of milk, only 2.1 million tonnes are processed annually, raising concerns about the mismatch between production and processing capacities.
