KAZAKHSTAN-BANK-LOAN

Kazakhstan will borrow 84.9 bln yen from IBRDPresident of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed the Law on the Ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.The Law has been published by the official mass media.The Agreement was concluded in Astana on October 11, 2024. A loan facility of 84.9 billion yen will be provided by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a period of 11 years, including a grace period of 5 years.The purpose of the loan is to finance Kazakhstan’s development policy “Inclusive and Sustainable Growth of the Economy”, including the financing of the budget deficit.The loan will be serviced by the government and repaid from the government budget.Kazakhstan’s budget deficit is set at 2.7% of GDP for 2025, at 2.2% for 2026 and 1.9% for 2027. The non-oil deficit will be 7.3% of GDP in 2025 to decrease to 4% in 2027. (ICE ALMATY)
