KOREA ELECTRIC CABLE CORPORATION SECURES 140 BILLION KRW CONTRACT FOR SINGAPORE

The Korea Electric Cable Corporation announced on the 11th that it has  signed a contract for a 230-kilovolt (kV) ultra-high voltage power grid  supply project with the Singapore Power Assets Limited. The order amount  is approximately 140 billion won. This project is a full turn-key project for establishing a 230 kV ultra-high  voltage power grid. The Korea Electric Cable Corporation will carry out the  entire process from the production and laying of 230 kV oil-filled (OF)  cables and related equipment to connections and testing. Oil-filled (OF) cables feature a way of forming an insulator by filling the  cable's interior with insulating oil, boasting excellent electrical performance  and high stability. However, due to complicated production processes and  challenging maintenance, only a few corporations both domestically and  internationally can produce them, making them high-value-added products.  The Korea Electric Cable Corporation developed and commercialized the  country’s first OF ultra-high voltage cable in the 1970s. With this order, the Korea Electric Cable Corporation has added more than  1.2 trillion won to its order backlog just in the fourth quarter of this year.  It previously achieved a record for the highest amount of ultra-high voltage  cable orders in Korea by securing a contract for a 400 kV ultra-high  voltage power grid supply project worth 840 billion won in October. In  November and December, it added a total of 220 billion won in orders from  the United States and Sweden. A representative from the Korea Electric Cable Corporation noted, “The  series of large-scale orders proves that trust in our technology, quality, and  service is increasing among major global power authorities.” They added, “As  investments in power grids and demand are rapidly increasing globally, we  will continue to expand our global orders and enhance corporate value  through the flawless execution of projects.” (ICE SEOUL)
