HYUNDAI MOTOR TO SUPPLY HYDROGEN BUSES TO SOUTH CHUNGCHEONG PROVINCE
Hyundai Motor said Friday it has signed an agreement with the South Chungcheong Province government to supply hydrogen fuel cell buses as part of the local government's carbon neutrality initiative. Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor will supply its Elec City and Universe hydrogen fuel cell buses in stages starting this year. The buses will be utilized for city and intercity routes, as well as school and workplace commutes. The provincial government aims to replace 1,200 diesel buses with hydrogen-powered buses by 2030. In addition, Hyundai Motor plans to establish six hydrogen commercial vehicle service hubs in the region to ensure smooth operations and maintenance. "Beyond supplying hydrogen buses, we will continue to expand hydrogen vehicle service hubs to support the province's seamless hydrogen transportation operations," a company official said. Choi Won-joon, executive vice president and head of the development team at Samsung’s Mobile eXperience division, spoke at the event, emphasizing the transformative potential of XR. “XR will create a new dimension by seamlessly connecting the physical and virtual worlds, breaking down physical barriers,” he said. “By combining advanced XR technology with multimodal AI that understands context, we have the ideal foundation for developing innovative new device designs.” (ICE SEOUL)
