MOSUL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO OPEN ON 10TH JUNE

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani conducted a detailed field inspection today at Mosul International Airport during his visit to Nineveh Province. He evaluated the ongoing construction work, including the airport's runway and terminals, and noted that the project has reached over 80% completion.During the inspection, the Prime Minister met with representatives of the executing company and emphasized removing all obstacles to ensure the timely completion of the airport. He directed that the airport be inaugurated on June 10, marking a significant milestone that coincides with the anniversary of Mosul's occupation-a symbolic statement of resilience and defiance against terrorism.Mosul International Airport, one of Iraq's major airports alongside Baghdad and Basra, suffered total destruction due to terrorism. Despite numerous technical and administrative challenges, the project made remarkable progress under the Prime Minister's guidance.According to the Prime Minister's office, the completion rate stood at only 30% in March 2024. However, in just eight months, the pace of work accelerated significantly, achieving adherence to the standards of the Iraq Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) and the State Company for Air Navigation.
